“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” (John 4:23-24 MSG)
This truly is what I want when you come to me in prayer, not someone playing a role out of duty, but a child who is unafraid to simply be himself. I love you, not who you think you should be but who you are right now in this present time. When you worship in spirit and truth, you are allowing my Holy Spirit to create transparency in your life. To see me more clearly requires that one be seen more clearly. You don’t have to be ashamed of the things in the past, for I have brought salvation to your past as well as to your future. You don’t have to have any regret, for I have worked all things for your good. Learn to worship me out of your true self and to not be afraid to stand fully in the light. I have no expectations that you have to meet, I only want to love you and fill you with my spirit as you worship me in your spirit.
