Which side are we on concerning the truth of God’s kingdom?

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

(John 18:36-37)

Jesus came into the world to testify to the truth of my kingdom. How people receive that testimony depends on which side of the truth about my kingdom they are standing on. For those who believe that my kingdom is just a Christianized version of the systems of the world, they will be unable to hear what I have said about the truth of my kingdom. This explains why so many seem obtuse about things that are so clear in my word. But for those who are determined to be on the side of the truth about what the kingdom of God actually is, their ears will be open, and they will be able to hear the truth with ever-increasing clarity. A person’s ability to hear me very much depends on which side of the truth he is standing on. It’s important to let this be the determining factor in who you choose to disciple in the future. Look for people who long to live as citizens of my kingdom and who deeply desire to give me the place of King over their lives.
