The Power of Words…

“For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:37)

Words are the most powerful force in the universe. By them it was created, and by them the content of a person’s heart is judged. All human beings will have to give account for every empty word uttered, and it is the words of a person that forms the evidence of who they are. I want you to always respect the power of words and be diligent to not speak empty words or judgmental words or condemning words. When words are spoken out, they attain a life of their own, and go forth to bring blessing or cursing. When words are uttered, they change the direction of the speaker’s life and have the ability to set a wrong course, even when seeking to do my will. But words can also be a powerful force for healing and revelation, and when kind words are spoken in love and respect, they do more to change another than anything else in the universe. This is one of the ways that my church can change the world around it, by speaking words of unity when there is disunity, by speaking words of love when there is hatred and speaking words of encouragement when there is no hope. I want my people to learn how to use the powerful tool of the spoken word.
