Shameless Audacity …

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread …  I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

(Luke 11:5, 8-10)

I am your friend and your father, and I delight to answer your prayers, but there are times when it requires more than our friendship to see the kingdom established. It requires a shameless audacity in your intercession. This word: (anaideia) means more than mere “persistence,” it describes a willingness to pray in a way that is unconcerned with appearances and daring in what you’re willing to ask. There are certain doors that will not open unless you, with shameless audacity are willing to knock and to continue knocking. There are some things that will not be found unless you are willing, with shameless audacity, to seek and to keep on seeking with stubborn importunity. There are some things that will not be given to you unless you, with daring and without shame, are willing to continue to ask with persistence. No one can pray in this way in their own strength, but if you are willing to pursue a shameless, audacious prayer life, I will teach you how to grow in intercession. The time has come for my people to turn away from passivity in prayer and to be willing to boldly seek, ask, and knock.
