Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
(Hebrews 12:1-2)
What I am asking you to do at this time in your life is not difficult: 1. Throw off everything that hinders. Look at every aspect of your day and ask the simple question, “is this hindering me?” If it is, then throw it off. 2. Run with perseverance. Press through the hard times and be determined to stay the course. 3. Fix your eyes on Jesus. I want you to do this not to be religious or sentimental, but for the important reason that he is the pioneer and perfecter of your faith. In this race that I’ve called you to run, it is not success or acclaim that is the finish line … it is Jesus. You are not alone child; you are surrounded by many who have gone before and many who have longed to hear my voice. You are part of a kingdom and one day soon you will fully step into that kingdom.
