Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus. (Matthew 17:4-8)
I want you to see no one except Jesus. Not Moses, the one to whom I gave the law; Not Elijah, the one to whom I gave prophecies, I want you to only listen to my beloved Son. I want you to get up and not be afraid and see Jesus only. I have spoken this word to my children before: the last time, many allowed theologies to muddy the message I was trying to speak. Don’t concern yourself with the doctrine of the trinity, or the theology behind the picture of God in the Old Testament; don’t set up separate tabernacles for Moses, Elijah, and Jesus … listen to no one but Jesus! In him is the completion of all the law and prophets and in him is the message of all prophecies and prophets. When you look to me, be determined to see no one except Jesus!
