There the LORD issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test. He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” (Exodus 15:25-26)
The test for Israel was not the journey through the wilderness, but their willingness to “listen carefully to the Lord and do what is right in his eyes.” This is always the greatest test for those who call upon my name. It is easy to blindly follow religious practices, and do what is right in your own eyes, but for those who want to be healed of the consequences of sin, there must be careful attention to what I’m saying. For my church to be healed, there must be a return to the simple value of listening carefully to the Lord your God. To “listen carefully” is to go into the inner room in your lifestyle and to have adequate time in that room. To “listen carefully” is to make a daily record of what I’m saying that you might remember and put into practice my words as the days go by. To “listen carefully” is to empty yourself of everything that might seem right in your own eyes, and to submit your will to mine. The result of listening carefully is not bondage but freedom, not limitations but healing that will provide no limits to what I can do through you.
