A new kind of worship…

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me … truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

(Matthew 25:34-36, 40)

The greatest work that you can do for me is measured by what you do with “the least of these” who surround you every day. The key to mercy ministry is not mercy alone, but worship. I want to teach my church how to see me in every destitute person and to be motivated by the desire to bless me as you seek to be a blessing to those who are in need. This will be another core principle of the new wineskin that I will raise up out of the ashes of the old. Young disciples will be trained, not only to hear my voice, but to also see my face in the faces of the needy. This is not to be another series of programs within the church, but a radical change of lifestyle where Christians automatically respond to need with time as well as money. The point is not to fix every human problem in a society, but to demonstrate to the world what true worship really looks like. As you worship me in helping the needy, it will turn the world’s attention to me.
